Stop Burning Trees - Drax AGM
Wednesday 27 April
On 27th April, Drax (whose power station is the word’s number one tree burner for energy) is holding its AGM. On the same day, forest and environmental justice campaigners are holding International Day of Action against Vattenfall’s biomass investments is. And in London, representatives of Drax and Vattenfall will be speaking at the Argus Biomass Conference, also starting on the 27th.
Join us outside the Drax AGM venue from 11.30 am for a 12 noon photo call: 200 Aldersgate St, Barbican, London EC1A 4HD (5 minute walk from St Pauls tube station). We will have banners, but please feel free to bring your own, too. Watch this space for details of speakers and music.
We expect the AGM to finish around 1.30 pm, and will then make our way (by public transport) to the Argus Biomass Conference, where both Drax and Vattenfall are speaking. The conference will take place at the InterContinental London - the O2, an IHG Hotel 1 Waterview Drive, London SE10 0TW.
Please note that to make this event as safe and inclusive as possible, we are asking all participants to wear FFP2 masks throughout the event and to socially distance. We will have FFP2 masks available outside the Drax AGM.
